Andy Grammer–Optimism, MTV, True Love & Dead Bodies

Imagine playing your heart out to a series of tourists/admirers/passers-by/homeless on the Santa Monica Pier.

For THREE YEARS.

Andy Grammer really couldn’t be any more adorable, I swear.  The man honed his craft with his guitar and an amp charged from his car battery because he just wanted to sing.  His first single “Keep Your Head Up” made him debut at #1 on Billboard’s New Artist’s Chart–and the video won MTV’s “O” Music Award for most innovative.  He’s coming back on tour to Salt Lake City with Train later this summer.  Listen to “Keep Your Head Up” live in our studio by clicking here, and “Fine By Me” by clicking here.

Session Notes:

Mood: Andy is relentlessly cheerful and genuinely happy to talk to fans and perform.  He blushed when he admitted he was in love. Oooooo…!

Highlights: While filming “Keep Your Head Up”–a song about optimism and hope, they stumbled across a dead body on location.  Awkward.

Most Memorable: Talking about how music can heal–love this man!
