Erin here.  I know most of you get excited for Christmas, but at Chez’ Collard, we are ALL THINGS Halloween. Plan on seeing a lot of that in the weeks to come.  You are warned.


10a-8p: What A Woman Wants Show: at the Southtowne Expo Center, $5.00

12n-7p: Green River Melon Days: all things watermelon.  Mmmm…watermelon.  Runs through Saturday.  Free.

3:30pm: The Drum Bus at Columbus Library, SLC.  Your kids climb on and play drums and have free lessons and fun.  Really, an adventure.

4p-8p: Sugarhouse Farmer’s Market: not many of these left, sniff…  Sugarmont Plaza, free.

5pm: Public Art Workshop: Utah Museum of Contemporary Art.  Classes on the amazing dynamic of street or urban guerilla art.  Prices vary on classes, contact here.

6:30pm: Zumba Body Jam Party–Kaysville SportsPlex.  Come prepared to dance–hard!  Free.

7:00pm: Time Lords’ Charity Ball--totally a Dr. Who fan?  Dress like your favorite character, dance, eat fish sticks and custard…this is Awesome.  Tickets $8-10  South ridge Parkway, Sandy

7:00pm: Trolley Square Live: music with the Blue Aces, food trucks, Desert Edge Brewery with drinks. Free!

8:00pm: REAL Salt Lake vs. Colorado “Whoever they ares” at Rio Tinto Stadium.  Tix: $20-200

8:00pm: Swaner Star Party–Park City.  Learn about all the stars in the Fall sky with amazing high-tech telescopes, tickets range from free for members to $5.00.



7:00am: Autumn Aloft–hot air balloon festival in Park City, runs through Sunday.  There’s “Night Glow” on Sunday at 7pm.

8:00am: Catch The Spirit Fun Run by the Community Health Centers, Utah State Capitol, suggested $15.00

8:00am: Utah Heart Walk and 5K, Sugarhouse Park, suggested $25.00

9:00am: Huntsman Cancer Institute 5K, Huntsman Cancer Institute: University of Utah, $35.00 donation

8a-2p: Downtown SLC Farmer’s Market, Pioneer Park

9a-2p: Thanksgiving Point Farmer’s Market, Lehi

9:00am: TedX Talks At The Leonardo, SLC  Prices vary, check here.

12n-5pm: Utah Clean Air Fair–Downtown SLC Library, free admission.  All things eco and awesome.

12n-10p: Harvest Moon Celebration, Historic 25th Street, Ogden.  Free admission, live music, family activities, food, drink, crafts.

5pm: Junction City Roller Derby at the Golden Spike Plaza, Ogden.  Kids free, $8-12.00

Haunted Houses and Attractions:

7:30pm: Nightmare On 13th in SLC is now open to terrorize your teenagers.  $13-37.00

7:30pm: Strangling Brothers Haunted Circus, Draper.  Yeah, I have a huge clown phobia, not for me.  But you will totally dig this year’s new horrors.  Gah…  $23.00


8:00am: Run, Rock and Roll: wonderful walk and 5K to help fund programs for young people with disabilities. Suggested $8-20 donation, Provo.

9a-1p: Wheeler Farms Farmer’s Market

9a-2p: 9th West Farmer’s Market, SLC International Peace Gardens

10a-2p: Park Silly Sunday Market, Historic Main Street

9:00am: Classical Greek Theatre at Red Butte Gardens-“Hecuba”  Tix $7-15

10a-5p: Cowboy Festival and BBQ-Utah Museum of Natural History.  Learn all about cowboys, horses, Bluegrass music and Western Culture.  And Ribs.  Tix: $9-13.00.

10:00am: Walk A Mile In Her Shoes-Park City.  This walk encourages silly costumes, dressing up, all in the name of raising money for Peace House, which supports women in their journey away from domestic violence. $25.00 donation.

12n-9p: Oktoberfest-Snowbird Resort.  Free admission, music, nature walks, kid’s activities…but let’s not fool ourselves.  You’re here for the Brats and Beer.

2:00pm: “12 Minutes Max” SLC Main Library.  Spoken word, music, art, comedy, dance and theatre.  In 12 minutes.  Free admission.
