Genius Tip Of The Day: Grated Butter

Ready for a stroke of genius so intense it will make your head hurt?

Take one of those hateful sticks of frozen butter and create the best recipe you’ve ever made.  Bear with me.

MY NEW FAVORITE BAKING TRICK: grate the butter while it is still hard, then mix with other ingredients as normal. It will soften quickly and perfectly and give an even dispersal of butter throughout the dough.

Admit it.  You’re kind of impressed right now.

    That is really smart! I always forget to defrost butter. This seems better than microwaving it!

    I always end up with the sludge from trying to microwave if to soften the stick…this such a nice change!
