Ten Things To Do On A Sad-Bad-Mad Day

Ten Things To Do On A Sad-Bad-Mad Day

One of my favorite quotes is from Brene Brown, who said “talk to yourself  like you would to someone you love.”

Doesn’t it kind of KILL you that we all think/speak truly terrible things to ourselves?  Critical, unsympathetic, unkind things that we would never say to anyone else.  Why don’t we deserve better?  Print this list out and keep it as your emergency backup for your next Sad-Bad-Mad day.

5. Appreciate your body: I learned compassion after beating an eating disorder.  Our bodies work so hard to please us, they struggle to give us what we need.  Show the love.

6. Fight your feelings of helplessness with a shameless Declaration Of Intention.  Include all the things you’ve wanted to do but thought you never could.

7. In serious moments of stress, put on your Emergency Tiara

8. Breaking a diet seems to induce the greatest self-loathing in the friends I love.  Think nourishment.  Not diet.

9. Make a list of all the beautiful things in your life that are yet to be experienced.

Thank you for this excellent post. The timing was perfect. My daughter backed her car into a post this afternoon, and I’m having a sad/bad/mad day. Certainly worse things could have happened, but this is not a good time to have an unexpected expense. Anyway, your encouraging tips made me feel better!
